Jump into your car and it is just 5 minutes to the famous Huka Falls area where you will find not only the falls but a number of attractions, including Huka Falls Jet, Huka Prawn Park, the Volcanic Centre and Honey Hive.

Further down SH 1 are the Wairakei International Golf Course and Wairakei Terraces Maori Cultural Centre. For those wishing to visit Tongariro National Park for skiing, trout fishing or tramping, it is just a 1.5 hour drive away.
