Enjoy a guided tour the Nursery & Hatchery and learn about 'Shawn the Prawn' and his seven wives! Explore the park to find fun activities and adventures around every turn! Sit back and relax while soaking your feet in the foot bath, or head to the fishing ponds to try your luck at landing the fiesty prawn!

And finally take in the magnificent view from our stunning Riverside Restaurant and Bar while feasting on a mouthwatering selection of dishes on offer.

Being prepared made this good value
Excellent tour at the start of the visit, and the walk. Good variety of activities. Being able to take food and drinks helped us keep the kids fed and watered and make the most of the visit.

Huka Prawn Park. Taupo. NZ
Family friendly park. You can fish for your own prawns to cook yourself, or they'll cook them for you for free in the restaurant. You're not guaranteed to catch any prawns, so don't go there with high expectations. I was lucky. I caught 1. You can go for a walk around the other ponds. There are other activities aimed at younger children, with easy to do adventure course.
